Guidelines for Cleaning and Disinfection of Bamboo Cotton Makeup Cotton
1、 Cleaning steps
Immediately rinse off surface makeup and skincare residue with clean water after use to prevent stains from penetrating deep into the fibers.
Focus on rubbing the areas contacting the eyes, lips and liquid foundation to reduce the accumulation of pigment and oil.
Use neutral detergent or baby shower gel (avoid bleach) to avoid damaging the natural antibacterial properties of bamboo fibers. If the stain is stubborn, a small amount of baking soda can be added to enhance the cleaning power.
Soak
Bamboo Cotton Muslin Cloth in cold water below 30 ℃ and gently squeeze until completely moist.
Drop in the cleaning agent and repeatedly pinch (avoid rubbing) until the squeezed water becomes clear.
Rinse thoroughly with running water to ensure no detergent residue.
Wrap with a clean towel and press to absorb moisture, avoiding strong twisting that may cause fiber breakage.
2、 Disinfection method
High temperature soaking: Soak the cleaned Bamboo
Cotton Muslin Cloth in hot water above 60 ℃ for 5 minutes (only applicable to high temperature resistant bamboo cotton materials).
UV drying: Lay flat in a well ventilated area and dry in the shade, avoiding direct sunlight (exposure can cause fiber hardening).
White vinegar soaking: Dilute white vinegar at a ratio of 1:10, soak a cotton pad in it for 10 minutes, and then rinse to kill bacteria and odors.
Salt water disinfection: Soak in 3% concentration salt water for 15 minutes to inhibit bacterial growth.
3、 Precautions
Cleaning frequency: It is recommended to clean immediately after every 1-2 uses to prevent stains from solidifying.
Dry storage: After thorough drying, store in a dust-proof box to prevent mold growth in humid environments.
Damaged replacement: If there is fiber breakage, hardening, or inability to thoroughly clean, it should be discarded in a timely manner.
Material adaptation: Only bamboo cotton cosmetic pads labeled as "reusable" (such as Boomi bamboo cotton and SNOWFOX antibacterial) are allowed.
4、 Prohibited behavior
Machine washing/drying: High speed mixing and high temperature can damage the structure of bamboo fibers, leading to chip shedding.
Powerful cleaning agents: Enzyme based or strongly alkaline detergents may weaken the antibacterial properties of bamboo fibers.
Long term soaking: Soaking for more than 30 minutes can easily lead to loose and deformed fibers.
